DIN763 standard chain is a precision chain that complies with the German DIN763 standard. It is mainly used for light lifting, bundling and mechanical transmission, with a rated working load of 0.3-3 tons and a safety factor of ≥4.0. Made of 1.4301 stainless steel or C15 low-carbon steel, it is cold-drawn, precision welded and brightly treated, and the chain link size accuracy is extremely high (tolerance ≤0.1mm). The surface is mostly polished (stainless steel) or galvanized (carbon steel). The stainless steel version is resistant to salt spray for ≥1000 hours, and the carbon steel galvanized version is ≥600 hours. It is suitable for clean environments such as food processing and medical equipment and ordinary industrial scenes. Its chain link structure is regular (aspect ratio 1.5-2.0) and the transmission is stable. It is widely used in packaging machinery, conveying equipment, light lifting and other fields, and is known for its high precision and reliability according to German standards.

Precision manufacturing, accurate size. Strictly follow the DIN763 standard. Taking a 5mm diameter chain as an example, the ring length is 12mm, the ring width is 8mm, and the aspect ratio is 1.8, ensuring perfect meshing with the sprocket. The vibration amplitude during transmission is ≤0.5mm, which is suitable for packaging machines and other equipment with high transmission accuracy requirements. The welding points are laser welded (stainless steel model) or flash butt welded (carbon steel model). The weld is flat (height ≤0.3mm) and burr-free to avoid scratching the contact material.
Smooth transmission, suitable for precision equipment. The chain ring adopts the "inner flat and outer round" design, and the contact area with the sprocket is 30% larger than that of ordinary chains, and the transmission efficiency is ≥95% (ordinary chains are about 90%). On the packaging machine conveyor line, the 1-ton DIN763 chain drives the conveyor belt to run, and the speed fluctuation is ≤±1%, ensuring the precise positioning of the packaging bag and reducing the material deviation rate by 50% compared with ordinary chains. Suitable for German light-duty hoists (such as JDT series), the verticality deviation during lifting is ≤2°, and the lifting accuracy is ±2mm.
Food and Packaging Machinery. In the canned food production line, stainless steel DIN763 chains (5mm diameter) are used to transport cans. The smooth surface of laser welding does not leave any food residue, can withstand high-temperature cleaning (80°C hot water), and can run 16 hours a day without rust. The film traction system of the packaging machine uses a 3mm diameter carbon steel chain. The precision transmission ensures stable film tension (error ≤2N), and the packaging qualification rate is increased to 99.5%.
Medical and Clean Environment. The material conveying equipment in the pharmaceutical workshop uses stainless steel chains (6mm diameter) to transport medicine bottles and packaging materials. The corrosion resistance is suitable for alcohol disinfection environments and there is no metal ion precipitation (in compliance with USP Class VI standards). The laboratory small lifting equipment (0.5 ton class) uses DIN763 chains. The high precision ensures that there is no shaking when the reagent bottle is lifted to avoid liquid spillage.
Lightweight conveying and lifting. The warehouse automation sorting line uses a 4mm diameter carbon steel chain to pull the sorting trolley (load 1 ton). The pitch is precise (20mm±0.1mm) to ensure that the trolley positioning error is ≤5mm, and 800 packages are processed per hour. Small workshops use 1-ton chain with hand chain hoist to hoist the motor (0.8 tons). The stability is better than ordinary chains, reducing the risk of collision during equipment installation.
Q1: What are the core differences with Australian short-link chains?
A: DIN763 chains focus on high precision and cleanliness (suitable for food and medical treatment), with a dimensional tolerance of ±0.1mm and mainly made of stainless steel; Australian short-link chains focus on rigidity and economy (agricultural logistics), with a tolerance of ±0.3mm and mainly made of carbon steel. For example, food factories choose DIN763 stainless steel chains, while Australian farms choose local short-link chains.
Q3: Can stainless steel models replace carbon steel models?
A: Stainless steel models must be used in corrosion-resistant and clean environments (such as food workshops); carbon steel models can be used in ordinary dry environments (40% lower cost), but their lifespan is 30% shorter than stainless steel (about 3 years). When replacing, ensure that the dimensions are consistent (pitch, diameter) to avoid affecting the meshing of the equipment.
Q3: How to verify compliance with the DIN763 standard?
A: Check the "DIN763" logo and TÜV certification mark on the surface of the chain, and ask for the inspection report provided by the manufacturer (including size detection, material certification, and tensile test data). If necessary, you can check the certification information on the official website of the German DIN Standards Association.
Q3: What should I do if there is loud noise during transmission?
A: Check whether the chain and sprocket match (pitch error ≤ 0.1mm), apply high-viscosity grease (viscosity grade ISO VG 220), and adjust the tension (droop ≤ 2% span). If there is still loud noise, it may be that the chain is worn (diameter reduction ≥ 3%), and a new chain needs to be replaced in time.
