The YQC drum clamp is a professional tool designed for heavy-duty drum lifting scenarios. It has a rated lifting capacity of 5-15 tons and a safety factor of ≥4.0. It is suitable for large steel drums and heavy drums (such as industrial waste drums and large oil storage drums) with a diameter of 400-800mm and a height of 800-1500mm. Unlike the "light and medium-sized specialization" of the SL drum clamp, the YQC series adopts an all-steel heavy-duty structure and achieves ultra-large clamping force (10-ton clamping force ≥50kN) through hydraulic drive. It is specially designed for scenes such as metallurgy, heavy chemical industry, and port freight that require lifting of overweight drums. Its clamp arm is forged as a whole with high-strength alloy steel, and its deformation resistance is 60% stronger than that of SL. Although its weight is 2-3 times that of SL with the same load (10-ton YQC is about 30kg, SL is about 12kg), it performs excellently in heavy-duty stability and meets the safe lifting requirements of heavy drums.

Heavy-duty design, large clamping force. The clamp arm is made of Q690 high-strength alloy steel (SL is aluminum alloy + steel plate), with a thickness of 20-30mm (SL is about 10mm), 10-ton clamping force ≥50kN (SL 5-ton is about 15kN), and can lift a solid roller with a diameter of 800mm and a weight of 15 tons (such as a lead ingot barrel). The contact area of the clamp arm is ≥600cm² (10-ton class), which is 50% larger than the same load of SL, and the unit pressure is ≤0.1MPa, which prevents the heavy barrel from deforming due to concentrated force.
Hydraulic drive, precise and controllable. Only hydraulic models are available (no mechanical models), equipped with dual cylinder drive (working pressure 16MPa, SL hydraulic model 8MPa), clamping/releasing time ≤8 seconds (slower than SL but with greater load). The clamping force is controlled by a proportional valve and can be adjusted according to the barrel material (100% force for steel barrels and 70% force for composite barrels). It is smarter than the fixed force value of SL. For example, when lifting a 5-ton plastic barrel, YQC can reduce the clamping force to 30kN, while the SL hydraulic model may cause the barrel to break due to the fixed force value.
Suitable for heavy duty, specific range. The drum diameter is suitable for 400-800mm (SL is 300-600mm), height 800-1500mm (SL is 500-1200mm), but the rated lifting capacity is 5-15 tons (far more than SL's 1-5 tons), not suitable for light plastic barrels (≤3 tons), but more focused on heavy steel barrels and special drums (such as industrial barrels with flanges).
Heavy-duty structure, high cost. The weight of the 10-ton class is about 30kg (12kg for the 5-ton SL class), and it needs to be used with a crane or forklift (it cannot be carried by one person); the main body is welded with all-steel, with a wear-resistant coating + galvanized treatment on the surface, and it can withstand salt spray for 1000 hours (500 hours for the SL class). The price is 50%-80% higher than the SL class with the same load, and it is suitable for heavy-duty industrial scenarios.
Heavy Chemical Industry and Metallurgy. Metallurgical plants transfer scrap steel barrels (800mm diameter, 10-15 tons). The YQC double cylinder clamping force ensures that the barrel does not shake during lifting. The all-steel structure resists high temperature radiation (ambient temperature ≤150℃). The SL is easily deformed at high temperatures due to the aluminum alloy frame; heavy chemical plants transport 500L highly toxic raw material steel barrels (8-10 tons). The proportional valve controls the clamping force to avoid leakage, which is safer than the fixed force value of SL.
Ports and Heavy Freight. Port terminals load and unload international standard heavy steel barrels (600mm diameter, 12 tons). The YQC salt spray resistance adapts to the marine environment. The synchronization of the double cylinders ensures that the barrel is horizontal (tilt ≤1°). The SL is not stable enough in the vibration of the sea breeze due to its lightweight design; Railway freight stations transfer military sealed barrels (800mm diameter, 15 tons). The all-steel structure is impact-resistant (can withstand 10kN collision force) and meets the standards for the transportation of dangerous goods.
Q1: How to choose SL drum clamp?
A: For heavy drums (≥5 tons) and steel drums, choose YQC; for light (≤5 tons) and multi-material mixed operations, choose SL. For example: YQC is used for lifting 12-ton steel drums at ports, and SL is used for transferring 3-ton plastic drums at food factories.
Q3: What are the safety distance requirements for remote control?
A: When lifting radioactive, highly toxic and other dangerous goods, the remote control distance is ≥5 meters, equipped with video monitoring (resolution ≥1080P) to observe the clamping status in real time; ordinary heavy barrels are ≥3 meters to avoid accidental falling and causing injuries. The length of the remote hydraulic pipeline is ≤10 meters (pressure drop ≤0.5MPa) to ensure accurate control.
Q3: What should I do if the dual cylinders are not synchronized?
A: First check whether the hydraulic oil is mixed with air (exhaust is required). If it is still out of sync, adjust the proportional valve flow (the difference between the left and right cylinders is ≤5%). If it is seriously out of sync (error>5mm), the cylinder seal ring needs to be replaced. The maintenance cost is 3 times that of the SL hydraulic model, but synchronization is crucial to heavy-load safety.
