SINGLE POINT MOORING (SPM) ROPE is a high-strength dynamic cable designed for offshore single-point mooring systems. It is mainly used for long-term mooring operations of tankers, FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading Units) and other large ships. This type of cable adopts a multi-layer composite structure, usually composed of high-strength synthetic fibers (such as polyester, HMPE or aramid) and a wear-resistant sheath. It has extremely high tensile strength, fatigue resistance and environmental adaptability. SPM ROPE can withstand dynamic loads in extreme marine environments, including wind and wave impact, tidal changes and long-term ultraviolet radiation, ensuring the safety and stability of ships when moored at a single point.
Structure: 8/12 Strand or inner core with jacket
Made of polyamid fiber, inner core with out jacket make the rope has good shock-absorption and abrasion resistance. Put special coating and metal accessory on rope ends and plus oat foam, Production according to OCIMF 2000 Guideline

Q1: What are the advantages of SPM ROPE compared with traditional anchor chains?
A: It is lighter and more flexible, which can effectively reduce the impact of dynamic loads on the structure. It is also easy to install and maintain.
Q3: How to choose the right fiber material?
A: Polyester rope is economical and fatigue-resistant. HMPE rope has the highest strength but is expensive. You need to choose it according to your budget and operating environment.
Q3: Is regular inspection required?
A: Yes! It is recommended to check wear, UV aging and internal fiber status every 6-12 months, especially in tropical waters.
Q3: How to calculate the maximum allowable load (MBL)?
A: It needs to be determined based on the ship's tonnage, sea conditions and safety factor (usually ≥3), and needs to be evaluated by professional engineers.
Q3: Can it be used in polar environments?
A: You need to choose a low-temperature resistant model (such as special coating HMPE). Ordinary polyester ropes may become brittle at -40°C.
