In the lifting and rigging industry, product reliability is built on more than specifications—it must be supported by actual testing. To further verify the performance of our products, Qingdao Haosail Machinery recently conducted a tensile test on our M10 European Type D Shackle with electro-galvanized finish.
The test result demonstrated a breaking load of 32.5 kN, significantly exceeding the minimum requirement based on the product's rated Working Load Limit (WLL), and further confirming the consistency and quality of our manufacturing process.
The tested product was an M10 European Type D Shackle with a rated WLL of 320 kg. According to the product specification, the shackle is designed with a 4:1 safety factor, meaning the minimum breaking load should be approximately 12.5 kN.
While these values represent the standard requirements for safe operation, actual testing allows us to evaluate the true performance of the product under extreme conditions.
The shackle was tested on a calibrated universal tensile testing machine under controlled conditions. During the test, the load increased steadily until the product reached its maximum load-bearing capacity.
The final breaking load recorded was:32.5 kN (approximately 3.3 tons)
Compared with the required minimum breaking load of 12.5 kN, the actual result was more than 2.6 times higher than the standard requirement.
The load-displacement curve showed stable load growth throughout the testing process, indicating good material toughness and structural integrity before failure. Such performance provides additional confidence in the product's reliability when used within its rated working load limit.

It is important to understand that the Working Load Limit (WLL) and the Breaking Load are different values.
The WLL of 320 kg represents the maximum load that should be applied during normal lifting operations. The breaking load, on the other hand, is determined through destructive testing and indicates the point at which the product ultimately fails.
Although the tested shackle reached 32.5 kN before failure, all lifting operations should always follow the rated WLL and applicable safety regulations.
At Qingdao Haosail Machinery, quality assurance is integrated into every stage of production. We believe that consistent product performance begins with strict process control and ends with thorough inspection.
Our quality control procedures include raw material verification, dimensional inspection, thread checking, surface finish inspection, assembly verification, and mechanical testing. In addition to routine inspections, random tensile and proof-load tests are carried out to verify product performance.
Before shipment, every batch undergoes a final quality inspection. Our QC team carefully checks product specifications, quantity, appearance, packaging, and labeling to ensure that customers receive products that meet their requirements and our quality standards.
Because we understand that lifting hardware is used in safety-critical applications, we consider pre-shipment inspection an essential part of our commitment to quality.
The successful 32.5 kN tensile test of our M10 European Type D Shackle reflects not only the strength of the product itself, but also the effectiveness of our manufacturing and quality control systems.
As a professional supplier of shackles, turnbuckles, hooks, chain fittings, wire rope accessories, and lifting hardware, Qingdao Haosail Machinery remains committed to providing reliable products, verified performance, and dependable service to customers around the world.
Through continuous testing, strict inspection procedures, and ongoing product improvement, we strive to deliver rigging hardware that customers can trust for demanding lifting and securing applications.
